Dutch Drama ‘Honestly, I’m Fine’ Boards International Sales with Incredible Film

The Dutch-language burnout drama Honestly, I’m Fine, based on Myrthe van der Meer’s autobiographical novel Paaz, has been picked up for sales by Incredible Film. The film centers on a woman who is admitted to a psychiatric ward after a severe burnout and comes to realize that the idea of being “normal” is far more fragile and universal than she once believed.

Stars Gaite Jansen, internationally recognized for her role in Peaky Blinders, in the lead role of Emma. She is supported by Jonas Smulders, Gijs Blom, and Georgina Verbaan, with additional performances from well-known Dutch actors Peter Blok, Ariane Schluter, and Bianca Krijgsman, as well as Martin van Waardenberg, Emmanuel Ohene Boafo, and Laura Bakke.

Among the EFM offerings is Appie Boudellah’s romantic drama Perfectly Imperfect. Starring Dutch-Spanish actress and model Yolanthe Cabau as a woman whose carefully managed life begins to unravel after a career setback and an unexpected pregnancy from a one-night stand, alongside the romantic comedy I Call Him Dog, which follows His calm existence is thrown into chaos after he inherits a spirited dog from a deceased family member.

Incredible Film has secured global distribution rights for After Party, a Netherlands–South Africa co-production directed by Jean van de Velde. The comedy is set to be filmed on the island of Rodrigues in Mauritius and stars Thomas Acda in the lead role.

The company has also picked up international distribution for Jimmy, a supernatural horror film from the creators of the short Meet Jimmy, which was previously sold to Paramount. The feature gained strong attention following its successful theatrical run in the Netherlands.

In addition, Incredible Film is handling Tummy Tom, a 2D hand-drawn animated preschool series made up of four films. The first installment, Tummy Tom’s Teddybear, is scheduled for delivery in early 2024, with the remaining titles set to roll out between 2025 and 2026.
