Luke Brawley’s Indox(the non-fiction festival agency) has assumed responsibility for worldwide festival distribution of Pete Muller’s first feature documentary, “Bucks Harbor.”
Pete Muller’s debut feature documentary as a filmmaker. “Bucks Harbor” is scheduled to premiere at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) in the Panorama section, running from 12–22 February 2026.
The story is set in coastal Maine, where brutal winters, long-standing fishing traditions, and rigid paternal expectations shape the lives of young men from an early age. In Bucks Harbor, survival often depends on physical endurance, and a man’s worth is measured by his strength, toughness, and ability to endure the demanding conditions of both work and community life.
Muller is a U.S. visual artist and documentarian known for exploring masculinity, conflict, and human ecology. A National Geographic Storytelling Fellow since 2017, he spent years working in the Middle East and Africa and has won major international awards, including an Emmy in 2022 for The First Wave.
Editing was handled by Noel Paul, with cinematography by Nathan Golon and Muller. The film’s original music was composed by Nikolaj Hess. Production duties were led by Muller, Golon, and Paul, while executive producers included Kaitlin Yarnall and Greg Moga. Jake Patryn and Morgan Patryn served as co-producers.
Brawley noted,“‘Bucks Harbor’ is a beautifully observed and deeply human film — the kind of documentary that stays with you long after the credits roll.” “Pete Muller brings extraordinary sensitivity to a community rarely seen with this level of intimacy, and we’re thrilled to be partnering on the film’s festival journey, beginning with such a meaningful world premiere at Berlinale.”
