Brad Pitt & Keanu Reeves Turn Down The Daniels’ New $150M Sci-Fi Comedy, After Ryan Gosling Exited

As we know, we shall not see Ryan Gosling( Project Hail Mary) in Universal’s upcoming untitled action sci-fi comedy movie. The film is reportedly being made on an estimated budget of around $150 million.

After Ryan Gosling exited the project, Universal Pictures reportedly approached Keanu Reeves and Brad Pitt for the lead roles, but both declined, according to reports from Jeff Sneider of The Hot Mic. The question remains: who will act on this movie? But Sneider confirms an actor has been secured.

Best known for the John Wick and Matrix sagas, Reeves’ latest outing is Jonah Hill’s 2026 black comedy Outcome, in which he portrays Reef Hawk, a Hollywood star ensnared in an extortion scheme.

This Blockbuster Pairing, Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert’s Everything Everywhere All at Once, at the 95th Academy Awards, won 7 out of 11 nominations, including Best Picture. It also earned acting awards for Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and Jamie Lee Curtis, as well as Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for Kwan and Scheinert, and Best Editing. The film also won two Golden Globe Awards. This A24 film became an indie hit, earning $77 million domestically and $143 million globally.

Kwan’s recent work, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew (2024), and his directing partner, Daniel Scheinert, directed an episode. Kwan is also seen as a producer in 2026 The AI Doc (2026), this documentary (titled The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist).

The Daniels’ untitled feature, once planned for June 12, 2026, is now scheduled to release on November 19, 2027, after revisions to the script.
