
Belgian director Anke Blondé is gaining attention with her latest drama film, Dust. The film has been chosen for competition at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2026, marking a major milestone for Blondé and her team.
Dust is a drama about two successful Belgian tech leaders who learn that a massive fraud behind their rise is about to be exposed within 24 hours, putting their company and public image at risk. Jan Hammenecker and Arieh Worthalter star as Luc and Geert.
Her first feature film was The Best of Dorien B. (2019), a comedy-drama that received positive attention on the festival circuit. And she has since gone on to direct Dust. Blondé’s latest project is gearing up for its premiere in the international spotlight, a moment that cements their rising influence in European cinema.
Early in her career, Blondé made short films Mister Frits, Buiten Adem, and Dura, with Dura Lex winning awards at international festivals
. She studied audiovisual arts and began her film career through short projects and casting work, later moving into writing and directing full-length films.
The film is produced by Dries Phlypo through his Ghent-based company A Private View, in partnership with Giorgos Karnavos in Greece, James Watson and Mikko Mäkelä in the UK and Finland, and Joanna Szymańska and Krystyna Kantor in Poland.
