CJ ENM Global Push: Tving Branded Hubs Launch on HBO Max and Disney+ Japan

The TVING-exclusive area features a curated K-content spotlight for global audiences, and as part of its global expansion, TVING is rolling out new Korean drama releases in Japan and across the Asia-Pacific region.

The CJ ENM-owned platform will distribute these shows through TVING-branded hubs on Disney+ Japan and HBO Max in 17 markets, strengthening its presence as a global destination for K-content. For the first time, the hub will highlight series beyond Tving’s own originals, sourced from outside broadcasters.

Featured titles include MBC’s Friday–Saturday drama “The Judge Returns,” produced by OH Story and Slingshot Studio, which premiered Jan. 2, and JTBC’s upcoming series “The Practical Guide to Love,” produced by SLL and scheduled for release Feb. 28.
Available only on Tving for local audiences, the two series are showcased as signature series within the “Tving Collection” on Disney+ Japan and HBO Max’s Asia-Pacific Tving hub.

In 2025, TVING posted an operating profit of KRW 104.5 billion, while its parent company, CJ ENM, recorded KRW 5.23 trillion in revenue, with monthly active users topping 11.5 million. The launch of its ad-supported plan was a major growth driver, making up nearly 40% of subscribers by early 2025 and helping TVING become a leading force in South Korea’s streaming market. The service also achieved strong results, surpassing 100 million total viewing hours through exclusive sports coverage, particularly the KBO League, as well as hit original series like Bon Appétit, Your Majesty.

The platform’s momentum was boosted further by a global partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery to expand into Southeast Asia and North America, supporting its goal of reaching 15 million subscribers by 2027.

Disney+ Japan began rolling out Tving-curated Korean programming on Nov. 4, 2025, across its “Tving Collection” and “Recommended Korean Dramas” sections. Meanwhile, HBO Max introduced a Tving-branded hub on Jan. 2 this year in 17 Asia-Pacific regions, showcasing exclusive originals alongside content from CJ ENM and Tving.

A company insider shared, “Beyond original content, Tving is strengthening its role as a global K-content hub that introduces competitive TV series from Korean production companies and broadcasters to global audiences.“We will continue to promote the distribution and expansion of K-content based on global partnerships.”

Head of CJ ENM’s content distribution business unit, Sebastian Kim, pointed out, We believe in the power of sympathetic storytelling that K-content can present, which will eventually resonate as a universal language.” He highlighted that building “healthy distribution channels” between studios and OTT platforms is central to expanding Korean content internationally.
