
Shrubb has stepped in as World Productions’ new development boss, replacing Emma Luffingham, who left the Line of Duty producer to join Pathé UK.

Shrubb first gained attention through her writing on stage. She worked on several well-received theatre productions, where she developed her voice and style. Her breakthrough came with Bad Sisters, the hit Apple TV+ series created by Sharon Horgan. The show follows five sisters whose lives become entangled in a dark and dramatic story involving abuse, loyalty, and revenge. Shrubb played a key role in shaping the tone and structure of the series. The show was praised for its bold writing, strong female characters, and mix of comedy and suspense.
Kathryn Shrubb has built her career across a range of independent production companies, working extensively in development over the years. During her time at the BBC, she oversaw scripts and played a key role in shaping award-winning series, including Three Girls, Silent Witness, and Luther. In parallel, World Productions has strengthened its team with the arrival of Joe Williams, the executive behind Mr Bates vs the Post Office and The Hack, who joins as Executive Producer.
