Nominations Golden Globes 2026 and Golden Globes winners 2025

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominees for the 83rd Golden Globe Awards on Monday, December 8, 2025. With Nikki Glaser at the helm. Topping the film categories is Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, which received nine nominations, while The White Lotus emerged as the television frontrunner with six. Watch the ceremony on CBS, with streaming on Paramount+

Highlighted by honors in Best Picture (Musical or Comedy), Best Director, and all four major acting categories, One Battle After Another, Paul Thomas Anderson’s cinematic triumph, is reigning supreme with nine nominations. Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value emerged as a leading nominee with seven nominations, spotlighting performances by Stellan Skarsgård and Renate Reinsve, and Ryan Coogler’s Sinners made its mark, landing six nominations.

Six animated titles are in the running for honors in the Animated Feature division at this year’s Golden Globes. The front-runner is KPop Demon Hunters, which garnered the most nominations among animated titles, with three in total — notably in Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement and Best Original Song. Zootopia 2 ranked next with two nods. The other films each earned a single nomination exclusively in the Best Animated Film slot: the independent production Arco, the fan-favorite anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – Infinity Castle, the Pixar-Disney collaboration Elio, and the GKIDS-distributed title Little Amélie or the Character of Rain.

The 2025 Golden Globes lit up Beverly Hills on January 5, bringing a mix of well‑deserved victories and a few delightful surprises. Hosted at The Beverly Hilton, the night made history with comedian Nikki Glaser taking the stage as the very first solo female host under the Globes’ new setup — a fresh chapter after years of big changes.

The Brutalist took home Best Motion Picture – Drama, along with Best Director for Brady Corbet and Best Actor for Adrien Brody. It was a dominant showing for the film.

In the musical/comedy realm, Emilia Pérez emerged as the big winner. It claimed Best Motion Picture – Musical/Comedy, Best Non-English Language Film, Best Original Song, and Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldaña.

For acting honors: Fernanda Torres won Best Actress in a Drama for I’m Still Here, while in the comedy/musical line-up, Demi Moore (for The Substance) and Sebastian Stan (for A Different Man) got the top acting prizes.

On the supporting side, Kieran Culkin won Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain, while Zoe Saldaña’s win for Emilia Pérez secured Best Supporting Actress in a motion picture.

For Best Motion Picture – Animated, Flow was the surprise winner, beating other strong contenders.

Television Takes Center Stage

Television saw some clear standouts too.

Shōgun grabbed Best Drama Series, and its actors — Hiroyuki Sanada, Anna Sawai and Tadanobu Asano — also won major acting awards. The show’s sweep made it the biggest winner of the night in TV drama.

For comedy series, Hacks secured Best Comedy/Musical Series. Meanwhile, Baby Reindeer won Best Limited Series or TV Film.
