Oscar-winning director Justine Triet is adding even more talent to her upcoming English-language debut, Fonda. The cast now includes Allison Janney (The West Wing, I, Tonya), alongside rising star three-time Emmy winner Cherry Jones (24, The Handmaid’s Tale), Odessa A’zion, fast-rising British actor Ewan Mitchell (House of the Dragon, Wuthering Heights), and well-known U.K. actor Benedict Wong (Weapons, Doctor Strange).

“Fonda” unfolds as a psychological thriller within the confines of an apparently serene huis clos, drawing viewers into a dizzying descent through the fragile boundaries of sanity, where grief entwines with obsession and steadily takes control.

Anatomy of a Fall director Justine Triet reunites with producers Marie-Ange Luciani (Les Films de Pierre) and David Thion (Les Films Pelléas) for this new project, along with sales agent MK2 Films.

The production brings together Belgium’s Les Films du Fleuve—run by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne and joined by Delphine Tomson—with strong U.K. backing from House Productions (“Conclave,” “The Zone of Interest”) and BBC Film, all serving as co-producers

“Fonda” is set to begin shooting from April to June, with casting handled by Cynthia Arra (Anatomy of a Fall) and Kharmel Cochrane (Saltburn). The film’s theatrical release will be overseen by Studiocanal in France, Germany, Italy, Benelux, Poland, Australia, and New Zealand. On the financing side, IPR.VC contributes under its long-term arrangement with MK2 Films.
