Robin Rose Singer’s Outrage stars Reed Birney as a divisive media figure forced to confront his past in a gripping satirical thriller.
Birney stars as Jake Gadling, a polarizing political commentator, who finds himself abducted after a night on the town. Decades of provocation have earned him no shortage of enemies—and now, one of them may be ready to finish the job.The film brings together Elizabeth Masucci (“Millers in Marriage”) and John Kroft (“Maestro”).
Reed Birney gained critical acclaim and won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his role in Stephen Karam’s The Humans. Where Birney played Erik Blake, the anxious, weary father of a working-class family gathering for Thanksgiving. In Craig Zobel’s satirical thriller The Hunt, Birney appeared in a supporting role within a politically charged narrative.
Birney’s screen credits include Morning Glory, a charming newsroom comedy led by McAdams, Ford, and Keaton in 2010.
Birney appeared in Dan Sallitt’s 2019 indie film Fourteen, which follows two close friends as their lives take different paths. In 2020, Birney played a supporting role in Radha Blank’s The 40-Year-Old Version, an indie comedy-drama, and Craig Zobel’s satirical thriller The Hunt. Robin Rose Singer was a finalist in the Academy Nicholl Fellowship for her screenplay The Lions of Mesopotamia (a true story about an Iraqi football team under Saddam Hussein).her produced feature film Angelfish premiered at TIFF Next Wave in 2020. She was Named to the Wscripted x Mubi Cannes List of Women Screenwriters.Mina Finds Her Edge! The project is adapted from an original script by Marc Weinberg and Victoria Fraser. Produced by Ellyn Vander Wyden and Katie Maguire, Fusion Entertainment’s Adam Kersh joins Birney, Weinberg, and Fraser as executive producer.
