A24 has unveiled a new trailer for The Drama, starring two-time Emmy winner Zendaya and Robert Pattinson (The Lighthouse) as a couple, ahead of its April 3 big-screen debut

Writer-director Kristoffer Borgli’s “The Drama” arrives as the debut pairing of Zendaya and Robert Pattinson in a feature film whose dream wedding collapses after a hidden truth from her past comes crashing into the present.

The film stars Zendaya as Emma Harwood, a bookstore employee and Boston University graduate from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Robert Pattinson as Charlie Thompson, a British museum director with a Ph.D. in art history from Tufts University. The cast also includes Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, and Hailey Gates, with Zoë Winters, recognized for her work on Succession, taking on the part of the wedding photographer.

Borgli returns to A24 with The Drama after directing 2023’s Dream Scenario, the dark comedy that earned Nicolas Cage a Golden Globe nomination.

Kristoffer Borgli, a Norwegian director acclaimed for his satirical edge, has built a distinctive body of work with films like Dream Scenario (2023), starring Nicolas Cage and earning a Golden Globe nomination under A24; Sick of Myself (2022), a Cannes‑premiered body‑horror satire on toxic attention‑seeking; and DRIB (2017), his biting mockumentary debut.

Filming took place across Massachusetts—including Boston’s Newbury Street and the Addison Gallery of American Art in Andover—as well as in New York City and Los Angeles. Produced by Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen, and Tyler Campellone.
