Masters of the Universe Trailer: Nicholas Galitzine & Jared Leto Clash in New Teaser

MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE

The live-action Masters of the Universe movie finally has a release date—June 5, 2026. It will hit theaters worldwide. The film is being made by Amazon MGM Studios along with Mattel Films, and it’s one of their biggest projects yet.

Amazon MGM Studios unveiled the latest Masters of the Universe trailer today, and it wastes no time plunging viewers into the action. The opening sequence finds Prince Adam imprisoned, only to realize his cellmates are none other than Ram Man, Mekaneck, and Fisto. While these seasoned warriors fail to recognize him, Adam’s own memories of Eternia remain sharp—reminders of the childhood he left behind before being sent to Earth for protection.

The trailer then pivots to Adam’s awakening: a stirring moment where Man-At-Arms urges him to embrace his destiny. With that, Adam calls upon the Power of Grayskull, transforming into He-Man in a surge of light and strength. The preview teases battles against Skeletor’s forces before culminating in a dramatic face-off with the dark lord himself, complete with Skeletor’s ominous first words.

Directed by Travis Knight, who worked on Bumblebee, and written by Chris Butler, the film is planned as a major launch for a new series, with the studio hoping its mix of action and emotional storytelling will give He-Man a fresh, exciting start.

Back in 2022, Netflix planned to bring Masters of the Universe to the big screen, but the project stalled again last year. The franchise’s future seemed uncertain—until news broke that Amazon and MGM Studios had stepped in to take over development. Adding to the excitement, Bumblebee filmmaker Travis Knight is now in talks to direct, giving the long-awaited movie fresh momentum.

Nicholas Galitzine steps into the dual role of Prince Adam and his mighty alter ego, He-Man, in Masters of the Universe. Joining him is Camila Mendes as the fierce warrior Teela, while Jared Leto embodies the villainous Skeletor. Idris Elba takes on the mantle of Man-At-Arms, and Morena Baccarin portrays the mystical Sorceress. Alison Brie features as Skeletor’s cunning lieutenant, Evil-Lyn, with James Purefoy and Charlotte Riley appearing as King Randor and Queen Marlena, the royal parents of Adam.

The roster keeps growing in exciting ways! Kojo Attah takes on the role of the sharp-eyed Tri-Klops, while Sam C. Wilson is suiting up as the fearsome Trap Jaw. And adding a fun twist to the mix, Kristin Wiig has joined the adventure as the voice of the ever-loyal Roboto. Sam C. Wilson is suiting up as the fearsome Trap Jaw

This movie brings the iconic franchise back to the big screen with a bold new story. After 15 years away, Prince Adam, played by Nicholas Galitzine, is drawn back to Eternia by the Sword of Power—only to find his world in ruins under the dark rule of Skeletor, portrayed by Jared Leto.

To set things right, Adam must team up with his trusted allies, Teela, played by Camila Mendes, and Duncan, also known as Man-At-Arms, played by Idris Elba. Together, they face an uphill battle as Adam steps into his destiny and becomes He-Man—the most powerful man in the universe.
