Directed by Anthony Maras, Pressure (2026) is based on true wartime events during WWII. The screenplay was written by David Haig and Maras.
Can you imagine the pressure on Britain’s chief meteorological officer, James Stagg, played by Andrew Scott, as he delivered one of the most consequential weather forecasts in history? With just 72 hours remaining before the D-Day invasion, the fate of the war rested on whether the brutal British weather would allow the operation to move forward.
The story follows James Stagg, a group captain played by Andrew Scott, and General Dwight D. Eisenhower, portrayed by Brendan Fraser, as they face an impossible decision. In the tense 72 hours leading up to D-Day, they must choose between launching the most dangerous seaborne invasion in history or risking the loss of the war altogether.
Joining the ensemble cast are Academy-nominated Kerry Condon as Kay Summersby, Golden Globe winner Damian Lewis as Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery, alongside Chris Messina as Irving P. Krick, Henry Ashton as John Eisenhower, Con O’Neill as Trafford Leigh-Mallory, Daniel Quinn-Toye as Michael Gregory, and Toby Williams as Bryant.
The film is produced by Working Title Films and financed by StudioCanal. Pressure was theatrically released in the United States on May 29, 2026.
Academy Award winner Brendan Fraser received widespread recognition for his performance in The Whale, earning major nominations at the BAFTA Awards and the Golden Globe Awards for his lead role.
Fraser’s recent projects include Diamond (2026), Rental Family (2025), Brothers (2024) alongside Peter Dinklage and Josh Brolin, and Killers of the Flower Moon (2023) starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro.
