
Pascal Plante’s historical survival drama King’s Daughters has been acquired by WTFilms. The folk-horror-tinged film is scheduled for release in 2027.
Two-time César Awards winner Sandrine Bonnaire stars in the film alongside Laurie Babin, Lauréna Thellier, Zoé Adjani, and newcomer Marguerite Champoux.
Pascal Plante’s recent psychological thriller Red Rooms claimed major victories at the Fantasia International Film Festival, winning Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Score, and Outstanding Performance. His debut feature, Fake Tattoos (Les faux tatouages), won the Vancouver Film Critics Circle Awards for Best Canadian Screenplay.
Audiences know Pascal Plante through films such as Nadia, Butterfly (2020), Fake Tattoos (2017), and Blue-Eyed Blonde (2015), with Nadia, Butterfly earning a selection at the Cannes Film Festival.
French actress and film director Sandrine Bonnaire has appeared in more than 40 films throughout her acclaimed career. Among her signature works are her breakout debut To Our Loves (À nos amours, 1983), in which she portrayed a troubled Parisian teenager, as well as Vagabond (Sans toit ni loi, 1985), La Cérémonie (1995), and her documentary Her Name Is Sabine (2007).
With her films, Sandrine Bonnaire earned widespread acclaim and numerous honors, including two awards at the Cannes Film Festival, two César Awards, and two awards at the Venice Film Festival. Her directorial debut documentary, Elle s’appelle Sabine, won the French Syndicate of Cinema Critics Award for Best First Film.
Co-written and produced by Dominique Dussault of Nemesis Films, known for Red Rooms, the project marks her sixth collaboration with Pascal Plante.
