James Cameron’s “Avatar: Fire and Ash” is the third installment of the “Avatar” series and arrives on Disney+ on 24th June.

Oscar-winning, this movie shows Struggling through grief, Jake and Neytiri’s family comes into conflict with the Ash People, a hostile Na’vi faction under Varang’s leadership, as Pandora’s battles escalate and a fresh moral dimension emerges.

The movie returns with Sam Worthington as Jake Sully and Zoe Saldaña as Neytiri, grieving parents still haunted by the loss of their eldest son, Neteyam, in the previous film. The cast also includes familiar faces such as Sigourney Weaver as Kiri, Stephen Lang as Colonel Miles Quaritch, Kate Winslet as Ronal, Bailey Bass, Britain Dalton as Lo’ak, Jake and Neytiri’s son, Trinity Bliss as their youngest daughter Tuktirey “Tuk,” Jack Champion as Miles “Spider” Socorro, and Edie Falco as General Frances Ardmore. New additions to the franchise include Oona Chaplin as Varang and David Thewlis as Peylak.

The BAFTA Award-winning Avatar: Fire and Ash became the third blockbuster of 2025 to surpass the $1 billion mark at the global box office, following two other Walt Disney Company hits — May’s Lilo & Stitch remake and November’s Zootopia 2. The upcoming “Avatar” movie is already expected to be released in 2029, and a fifth in 2031.

James Cameron’s Avatar franchise remains one of the highest-grossing film series of all time. The first installment, Avatar (2009), became the highest-grossing movie ever at the worldwide box office, earning more than $2.9 billion globally, a record it still holds. Its sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water (2022), grossed over $2.3 billion worldwide, while the third installment, Avatar: Fire and Ash, went on to earn $1.4 billion at the global box office.
